[Pixels of] Day 3 : Bridge Climb, The Rocks & Manly.

Early start for Day 3 as we had prebooked a bridge climb session at 10.00am. Day 3 is an exciting day as we were anxious to climb the Harbour Bridge above life traffic and the river beneath the bridge. We even ate breakfast on the go as we left the Malaysian Hall to board a bus then a taxi to the starting point of the climb.

They didn’t allow any loose items on the bridge, so we had to purchase our climbing pictures from the gift shop for $66.

Before climbing, we had to put on overalls, gloves and attach various objects to our overalls – a radio to tune into our tour leader’s explanation, an extra jacket and straps. The tour leader who guided us was Jasmine and she was very friendly and animated in guiding us. The best part of the climb had to be when we reached the summit, right between the Australian and NSW flags. Jasmine shared with us an interesting fact : About 4000 men had proposed to their girlfriends at the summit and they were happy to report that only 1 woman said No. Awkward moment indeed, as you are strapped to a wire together for the 2hour tour..

After the exhilirating experience of being on the bridge, we went down the street to Argyle Stairs and headed to Pancakes on The Rocks for lunch and the Rocks weekend market. I would highly recommend Pancakes to Sydney travellers as the meal portions are big, they are delicious and the food looks exactly like the pictures in the menu. Believe it or not, the restaurant opens 24/7! The Rocks weekend market had a lively atmosphere and most traders were selling art and crafts. There were also street performers around.

From the Rocks, we walked a few metres towards Circular Quay and boarded the Manly Ferry. The fee is included in the MyMulti 7 day pass. The Manly Wharf was gorgeous but we were a bit lost on what to do there. It rained a little and the wind was cold and merciless. So there were no surfers or sunbathers on the Manly Beach. The girls decided to hop on to a random bus and randomly stop at a random point. Hehe. We boarded a bus which took us to another beach which had cliffs and dangerous waves/slippery rocks instead of white sands.

We undoubtedly had a hectic Saturday! The bridge climb is the highlight of the Sydney trip as we had a 360 aerial view of Sydney. A meal in Pancakes on the Rocks will probably be repeated tomorrow šŸ˜‰
