… and here we are at the end of 2012.
Blessed with so many great memories, I’m ready to put 2012 to rest. Resolutions achieved (yay!) and ready to make new ones.
December was undoubtedly eventful.
I spent 3 nights overnight in a ginormous book sale in Mines and equipped myself with enough reading material for 2013. Books were dirt cheap at the Big Bad Wolf Book Fair and there were 3 million books available. Seriously insane.
Then I realized it’s been awhile since I hiked, so Pura and I along with Jenal and Syapiq went up Cheruk Tok Kun in Bukit Mertajam. The hike up the hill was a little bit less than 2km but I struggled all the way. Blame it on lack of sleep, no breakfast and also my fitness, I slowed everyone down. Sigh.
December was also spent all around the island to hunt for good food. Q took me to Teluk Tempoyak which had amazing view of the fishermen’s boats. We also went to our favourite spot in Strait Quay, Delicious. This time we tried the cheese cake and braised lambshank pie. The pie is a Must Try! Great for tea for two. We also tried ikan bakar at a restaurant overlooking the Penang Bridge near Queensbay. Amazing pari bakar.
A roadtrip was also taken in December. With pija, we headed to Lizzy’s wedding in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan. I was the most excited when I saw that they served daging masak lemak hehehe. The boys also sang a song for the bride and groom.
Last but definitely the most major event is the move. We finally downsized from a double storey terrace to a single storey semi D in Kulim Utama. The neighborhood reminds me of Wisteria Lane, it is the ultimate suburbia. Our new home is closer to the office so I am able to wake up a little bit later for work. :p Jenal, Jazu and Zul helped Pija, Ghuna and I the whole day and the move went on very smoothly. Later we had celebration dinner in one of the best Arab Cuisine restaurant in Penang, Qasar Hadramawt.
May 2013 bring more laughter and happiness. Resolutions are to be kept secret for awhile as I am still working on them. But this is a project that I plan to work on :
Travel plans for 2013 are also in planning stage, but a one way ticket to Siem Reap has been secured. Travel resolution would be to arrive in one country and then to depart from another 😉
Marathons will probably resume too, because if I retire, I would definitely gain more weight as I no longer go for jogs after work and on weekends.
I also hope that 2013 will be the year that I further my studies. When and where are still the questions that bother me.
Finally, I will be turning a quarter of a century old in 2013, wish me all the luck in the world! 😀
