[Pixels of] Part III : Phuket

No holiday is complete without a trip to the beach! In my opinion anyway hehe. Patong beach was our choice, due to curiousity mostly.

From my previous post, the sad story of getting scammed by the travel agent at our hotel was first told. A trip to a touristy area is always at risk with getting scammed and we were very careful to do online research and read reviews to be safe. Luck was just not on our side.. We booked the VIP bus with the agent for 1500 baht per person but when we reached the bus station, we were told that our tickets were for normal bus tickets, priced at only 80 baht.

We arrived in Phuket feeling irritated and immediately regretted the trip to Phuket. After a 12 hour ride to the Phuket bus station, then taking a taxi, we arrived at Lemongrass Hotel. Once there we decided to just laze around and not get around too much. Phuket is just too expensive! Every meal, every transport, every souvenir is double/triple the price of Bangkok and Siem Reap. We opted for walks on the beach and a 1 hour foot and back massage for 250 baht.

The best part of this part of the trip is our hotel. We got a free upgrade to the deluxe room and the room was clean, everything worked properly. The hotel even let us check in early and check out late for no charge.

Later that night we walked to Jungceylon mall and had dinner at Le Siam, a fine Thai cuisine restaurant. Recommended : Shrimp Tom Yam Goong and the fish in this photo hehe.

We only spent one night in Phuket but yet felt like it was enough to have the Phuket experience. Our flight was out of Phuket straight to Kuala Lumpur.

Our 10 day adventure from Siem Reap to Bangkok to Phuket took us on planes, tuk tuks, taxis, a train, MRTs, buses and a boat!

To be honest, after this getaway, I kind of miss my reality, my routine, my home. 🙂
