A free trip (thank you Arra!) to tour one of the most famous football stadium in the world? Why not? 🙂 I do not watch (or understand) football that much, but I do appreciate the opportunity to walk a few steps in a famous footballer’s boots, to see the world through their eyes. The full stadium view from the Chevrolet Home Team seat was definitely breathtaking.
The tour started from the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand. I have seen the Fergie statue on tv/papers a few times before and there it was standing above us.
The tour guide (which wasn’t very friendly, he cracked jokes maybe only twice throughout the whole tour) then took us to the press conference room where there was a VERY lifelike wax figure of Fergie. We stopped to snap a photo quickly before being forced to move along quicker as we were holding up the queue. The guide failed to capture my attention as his explanation wasn’t passionate at all, it was as if he was reading a script the whole time. Boo.
We were also taken to the Players’ Lounge, Dressing Room and then finally through the tunnel where the players would go through to get to the field. I must say that the lounge and dressing room seemed so small in size, a bit cramped to fit a whole football team.
My favorite part of the tour was sitting in the Chevrolet seats. Really awesome view. Imagined myself sitting there with a stadium full of supporters. Haha.
So those were my favorite parts of the tour, didn’t get to see much as we were in a hurry to catch the bus home. The stadium is only about 15-20 minutes bus ride away from our campus. I wouldn’t mind going for the tour again and really listen to the guide to try to learn a new thing or two. Really hope to catch a live game soon! 😉
